Smooth Swimming At The Olympics
Team USA’s artistic swimming squad thrilled fans on Monday by executing a stunning underwater moonwalk while upside down.
The Americans debuted in the pool with their opening technical routine set to Michael Jackson’s hit ‘Smooth Criminal’. As the performance neared its dramatic finale, the swimmers inverted underwater, lifting their legs above the surface.
In a breathtaking moment, they flawlessly performed the moonwalk, Michael’s signature move.
The crowd in Paris erupted in applause, and fans back home flooded social media, calling for a gold medal.
One fan exclaimed,
“This was the highlight of the day for me. USA Artistic Swimming team with an underwater moonwalk in a tribute to Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal… instantly iconic!”
The USA will perform their free routine on Tuesday, followed by the acrobatic routine on Wednesday.
