Chinese Fans Erect Statues
Michael Jackson’s Chinese Fan Club have erected large statues of Michael including one at a Beijing business centre, in celebration of his 62nd Birthday.
The ceremony in Beijing was attended by fans of all ages who were dancing to Michael’s music. The chairman of the Fan Club made a speech and then the 1.8 metre ‘HIStory’ statue was then revealed by six of Michael’s fans.
Money for the statues was raised through crowd funding by Michael’s fans in China. They were made using 3D printing technology.
Along with Beijing, there were four other statues revealed at the same time including in Xi’an, Northwest China’s Shaanxi Province and Nanning, capital of South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Previously, the fan club has revealed statues of Michael in Zhengzhou, Central China’s Henan Province and Guangzhou, South China’s Guangdong Province.
