Spooks in the City
150 dancers will perform Michael’s ‘Thriller’ dance in Swansea, on Halloween at 12.30pm. This has been organised by Swansea Council and Jermin Productions as part of ‘Spooks in the City.’
Children who attend will have the chance to have their photos taken with the Mystery Machine and Green Goblin.
The free events have been arranged for Halloween as part of the ongoing ‘Big Heart of Swansea’ campaign.
The re-enactment of the ‘Thriller’ video will take place at 12.30pm.
A singing and dancing pumpkin parade will be leaving the castle and winding its way through the city centre from 2pm.
Swansea Council and Swansea BID (Business Improvement District) are behind the ‘Big Heart of Swansea’ campaign.
Council cabinet member for regeneration, Nick Bradley said:
“The Big Heart of Swansea campaign is all about trying to attract more visitors into our city centre at a time when our traders are battling against factors like a difficult economic climate, out-of-town retail parks and the rise in popularity of internet shopping.
“We need to be imaginative to attract people into our city centre and part of that involves making the most of times like the kick-off of the Premier League season, Christmas and Halloween.”
Other city centre fun on Halloween includes a series of events at Swansea Market from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
A Wave outdoor broadcast, a bouncy castle and Halloween arts and crafts have been arranged for Oxford Street from 10am.
