‘BAD25’ On UK TV
UK fans are in for a real treat tonight! Spike Lee’s acclaimed documentary ‘BAD25’ will air tonight on BBC 2, at 9.45 p.m. Don’t miss the magic and genius of Michael!
The Radio Times describes the documentary thus,
“A spectacularly imploding private life and a strange, premature death have both done much to obscure the fact that Michael Jackson was the most brilliant pop performer.
Longtime fan, film director Spike Lee pays homage to his idol with this scintillating documentary, a thorough look at the album that came after Thriller — Bad, in 1987. Bad cemented Jackson’s place in the world, selling 45 million copies and securing five consecutive American number one singles.
In Bad 25, Lee conscientiously goes through each of the album’s tracks: songs of shimmering brilliance such as The Way You Make Me Feel, Man in the Mirror and Smooth Criminal, with footage — a lot of it never seen before and shot by Jackson — of recording sessions and the world tour that followed.
Contributors include Martin Scorsese, Kanye West and Sheryl Crow, who was a backing singer on the Bad tour.
