Birthday Celebration Concert
‘Goin’ Back to Indiana: Can You Feel It,’ came to a close with a tribute concert at West Side Theatre Guild in Gary, Indiana. Michael’s children Prince, Paris and Blanket, along with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, were the guests of honour treated to acts including The Alan Project, which performed a rendition of Michael’s ‘Rock with You.’
Performers also included The Gratitude Project.
Andrew Cantu, of the local group Los Cordoba, came to the concert with his family.
“I’ve always been a fan of Michael Jackson,” he said. “I wanted to come and support Gary and the Jackson family.”
John Paolini traveled from New Hampshire with his 12-year-old twin daughters. They attended the Katherine Jackson tribute dinner Thursday at Majestic Star and Casino and visited the former Jackson home Friday.
“It’s been a great time in Gary,” Paolini said. “We came here because of Michael Jackson. We love him. We’re big fans!”
It is believed that the birthday tribute will be repeated next year, again in Michael’s hometown, Gary, Indiana.
