Weird Al’s MJ Music
Three Grammys, eleven nominations, thirteen studio albums, and thirty years in the music business, have made Weird Al Yankovic one of the most popular musicians spanning two generations. Since releasing his self-titled debut album in 1983, Weird Al has always found a way to keep his music fresh and entertaining.
In an interview with Michigan’s Morning Sun, he discussed his career and his continuing diversity.
Of his parody recording of Michael’s single ‘ Bad,’ which he called ‘Fat,’ he said :- “Yeah, I have been performing that song on the road for the last few years. I think there is nothing morbid about it. I think people realize that Michael Jackson was a fan of the parody and he didn’t have a problem with it. I look at it as a celebration of his life. I don’t think there is anything inappropriate in my continuing to play that song.”
