Michael Inspires Fiji Idol

Ili Hazelman won the Fiji ‘Idol Competition,’ performing amongst other songs, Michael’s ‘I’ll Be There.’  He has now released his first single ‘All For Love.’

In his ‘Moon Walk,’ autobiography, Michael noted that ‘I’ll Be There,’ was the song that solidified The Jackson 5’s careers and showed audiences that the group had potential beyond bubblegum pop. Allmusic commented that, “rarely, if ever, had one so young sung with so much authority and grace, investing this achingly tender ballad with wisdom and understanding far beyond his years.”

Michael continued to perform this song throughout his solo career, as part of the “Now for the old songs,” segment of his world tours. He also performed this compassionate ballad in the 2009 film ‘Michael Jackson’s This Is It,’ and during the song, clips of the Jackson 5 are shown. At the end of the song, Michael dedicates ‘I’ll Be There,’ to all of his brothers, plus his parents.

Michael and this song continue to inspire up-and-coming artists such as, Ili Hazelman.
