‘A Horse With No Name’
America’s debut single in 1972 was ‘A Horse With No Name,’ an evocative song, with a haunting melody. Many fans may have now heard a short clip of Michael singing his version of the song, and now rumour has it that he rewrote it, and recorded it for himself as ‘A Place with No Name.’
‘A Place with No Name’ may also be released on Michael’s next album which is said to include lots of previously unreleased material.
The fact that Michael thought enough of the original to rework it is a compliment that still surprises Dewey Bunnell, the man who wrote the song.
“I had heard about it a couple of years ago, before Michael passed,” Bunnell says. “After his death, I forgot about it. Now it seems the song will come out this year, and the credits will read “Michael Jackson and Dewey Bunnell.” It’s pretty amazing.”
