MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE FUNDRAISER (PRESS RELEASE)

Make a Better World Foundation is pleased to announce its First Annual Convention at the Sheraton Universal Hotel, June 24-28 2010. The program honors Michael Jackson with the profits to go to Haiti Relief.

Make a Better World Foundation was founded by fans who have been greatly inspired by the love and humanitarian efforts of Michael Jackson and wish to carry on his love for humanity and the world.

The five day convention consists of various events which will give honor to The King of Pop, give fans the opportunity to mourn him together at visit Forest Lawn and celebrate all the beautiful things his life has created in us, and raise funds that will help people in need around the world.

It starts with a banquet. Special guest speakers include Geraldine Hughes Author of “Redemption”, Larry Nimmer film maker, Pearl Jr. author, activist, journalist, Michael Kiss Tribute Artist, John Tobin (Bogart in Smooth Criminal), Catherine Coy Founder of MJTruthNow.com and Chairperson, Vindication of Michael Jackson in Mainstream Media, Shawn Henning Author of “Michael Jackson The Book the Media Doesn’t Want You to Read”, and performances by Mengesha “Mystro” Francis featuring his Piano Medley, Geraldine Hughes and choir, Kim Yarbrough, and Alex Knight.

Throughout the five day convention there will be bus tours taking registered guests to Forest Lawn, Encino, Carolwood, the Staple Center, and other area attractions. They will be meeting other groups for a world wide singing of ‘Cry’ via webcam and a candle light vigil. Events also include vendors, book signings, poetry readings, dance lessons to learn MJ moves, a fashion show, special rate tickets to universal studios park, the wax museum and other area attractions, video tributes from fans, a toy drive and delivery of toys to Children’s Hospital, MJ fan art gallery, puppet making workshops for kids, another special speaker evening featuring Brain Oxman, Alana Thomas, followed by cake and coffee, and a showing of This Is It every night at midnight!

The weekend will conclude with a Hip Hop for Haiti show featuring Michael Kiss Tribute Artist, dance crews and performers from around the world, and surprise guests. All funds raised will go to Haiti and other disaster relief situations. Larry Nimmer will also be filming the event and making DVD’s of which all sales will also go to Haiti and charity.
