Rare Photo For Auction
November 12, 2009
In an auction to benefit poor children in Uganda, almost fifty photographs will be sold including a black and white portrait of a young Michael wearing a safari (pith) helmet.
The photograph was taken in a Los Angeles recording studio by Jeffrey Scales, who lives in Harlem. The starting price for the item is $950 but it is expected to fetch much more and has been valued at $2,500.
The Steven Kasher Gallery is on W. 23rd St. in Manhattan and the auction begins at 6.30 p.m. Proceeds will go to L.E.A.D. Uganda, an educational program helping vulnerable, talented youth achieve their potential.
