Las Vegas Tribute Show
August 29, 2009
Michael stayed at George Maloof’s Palms Hotel and Casino complex in Las Vegas before moving to Los Angeles. He lived there with his children and also recorded music in the hotel’s recording suite.
After his death, and on the day of his birthday, August 29th, a Tribute show was arranged with twenty artists performing in his memory.
The proceeds from the show were over $100,000 which will pay for music education programmes in Clark County.
“That was something he wanted to do,” said Joe Jackson, who has lived in Las Vegas since the mid-1990s.
Maloof confirmed that Michael brought it up earlier this year when he gave him a tour of the venue
