Michael’s Portrait
Jerry Biederman has been a fan of Michael’s for many years. He grew up in the same neighbourhood and was almost the same age as Michael.
When Jerry heard of Michael’s death, he thought immediately of his friend, celebrity artist David Ilan. David uses only hand drawn dots to create his portraits, a technique called ‘pointillism’.
David has worked with some of the most famous people in the world for over ten years and in 2007 he had the idea to connect each dot to a real person, who is then given the opportunity to attach a message to their dot, which is free.
Jerry approached David to ask if he would do a portrait for Michael’s fans, and while he was initially a little reluctant, he agreed to start a portrait if one quarter of a million people signed up. Therefore, Jerry is asking all fans to sign up to become part of Michael’s legacy to the world.
