Sand Sculpture
The town of Blankenberge in Belgium has for the last eleven years hosted the world’s largest sand sculpture festival. This year’s theme is pirates with thirty-four sculptors representing eight countries.
A last minute addition was a sculpture of Michael and fans can light a tea-light candle for Michael there.
Borescki Wiaczeslaw, a Polish artist, spent four days building the two metre tall statue, copying the cover of the album ‘History’.
Wiaczeslaw said, “…In fact, my artistic career started with Michael Jackson. I once found a picture of him in a newspaper so I took a pencil and I started to draw his portrait. I was sixteen years old and after that, I gave it as a gift to my first girlfriend,”
The exhibition will continue until the end of August and viewing costs 7 Euros.
