Memorabilia Sale In Vegas

Yahoo has reported that Julien’s Auctions who were involved in the recent abandoned auction of Michael’s personal belongings, has sold at auction in Las Vegas, various articles once owned by David Gest. The twenty-one articles, with a conservative total estimate of $6,000 reached a staggering $205,000.

A crystal-studded shirt worn onstage by Michael fetched $52,500, and a painting by Michael of Mickey Mouse fetched $25,000.

The sale took place in the Planet Hollywood hotel-casino, where fans gathered in the hope of collecting a small piece of Michael’s history, but they were soon outbid by larger collectors. One fan wanted the Mickey Mouse painting and was prepared to bid $1,000…. it sold for $25,000, (including Julien’s 25% commission).

It seems collectors have an eye for the future value of Michael’s legacy.
