Lawsuit Against 40/40 Club

Bet.com have today reported that Broadcast Music Inc (BMI) have filed a lawsuit against Jay Z’s 40/40 Club on behalf of Michael, R. Kelly and Kanye West’s music publishers.
According to the report, the lawsuit was filed on Monday in Manhattan with BMI seeking damages for infringement of copyright from the club and its co-owners. Jay-Z was named in the lawsuit.
In March 2006, BMI made two random visits to the club where at least seven unlicensed songs were heard, which included; Michael’s ‘Billie Jean’ and ‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’.
