Chart Rules Changing Today
January 7, 2007
The BBC reported that the way the Top 200 singles are compiled changed today – Now all singles can enter the charts from the moment they are available as downloads.
Previously downloads could only chart one week before a singles release and sometimes it could be as much as five weeks previous to a CD being released.
Added to the above, once a CD is deleted and is still available to download, it will still be eligible for the charts.
